So sorry that new information has been scarce lately. This writer has not been able to attend the last two crops, nor will I be able to attend the next crop...when is that, you ask?? Well, it is January 17th, from 1:00 - 10:00 PM. New things are on the agenda for 2009, so why don't you make a New Year's resolution to be at the next crop, and at the ones throughout 2009. (I will update the calendar as soon as I get this year's dates!)
Speaking of the New Year, don't forget to scrap your 2009 Resolutions!! Do a 6 x 6 page and hang it somewhere you can see it everyday!

The October Crop recap
We had several new people, and several people who hadn't been able to attend for awhile. It was a great to see everyone. We all commented about how QUIET it was without several of our regular attenders (LOL!) The swap for October (by popular vote!) was a Christmas card, and we had 6 people sign up for that, which is due at the next crop. Many people are getting ready for the retreat coming up in 2 weeks, can't wait for that! And stay tuned for our next crop November 15th.

August Crop has come & gone
Well, the August edition of the SISF crop has come & gone, and MUCH fun was had. Everyone commented on how we all outdid ourselves on the food that we brought - there was definitely some good eating going on!! "You Are My Sunshine" was the prize theme, and all the prizes were summery & yellow. Many secret sisters had gifts show up, including a few more that appeared in the ladies restroom (mmm, what does that say about us??). Scrap Bingo happened again, including our own version of yelling "BINGO", which some were more enthusiastic than others!! And our own Stephanie provided a wonderful make & take (a water bottle that had it's own pocket tag where you could add a flavor packet; perfect for giving to someone special) showing off some of the latest colors & stamps from Stampin Up. Also mentioned was the success of the St. Louis Road Trip, as well as the collection of donations for our troops in July, which resulted in 10 packages being mailed. All in all, I would say that there was a lot more than just scrappin going on in August!

Helping out the troops at the July crop!
Please remember we will be sending boxes to Iraq and Afghanistan. We will start with small comfort items they can carry with them in their pocket.
Examples:
black electric tape (this is like gold in some places right now)
baby wipes
bubble gum
camouflage duct tape
candy (no chocolate)
cookies
crossword puzzles
dried fruit
individual canned fruit (with flip top)
hand sanitizer
tuna and chicken in flat packages
propel or vitamin dry mixes (individual packs ) or Koolaid straws to add to bottle water
peanut butter
puddings
powder
power bars
nuts (individual packs)
snack crackers
socks
trail mix (individual packs)
tucks (hemorrhoid wipes)
ziplock bags (2 gal sizes)
They would always like letters, old newspapers, something to let them know we are with them.
And...remember money is always good...need to buy postage for all of this!
If you have any of these items, please bring them to the July crop!! Thank you for your generosity!

10 ways to shake up your next all-day crop!
(Saw this at www.scrapbookandcards.com & HAD to put it here...so funny!! I may have tweaked a few though...)
1.) Add everyone at your table as a Friend on Facebook (or add them to your "joke" email list!)
2.) Set your egg timer every time you start to design a new layout.
3.) Start hammering an eyelet every time someone tries to strike up a conversation.
4.) Ask your neighbor every 20 minutes, "Are you going to use that?"
5.) Mark your workspace territory by laying down some masking tape on the cropping table (haven't I seen that done before?)
6.) Pull out your "All Day Crop Tool Belt", reload your stapler, and strap on safety goggles.
7.) Bring your Janome sewing machine to the crop and announce at your table that you are sewing ALL of your pages today.
8.) Line up 8 to 10 pill bottles (full of mints) and tell your cropping neighbor that they are just to get the creative juices flowing.
9.) Show your completed scrapbook to a neighbor and mention how you didn't purchase any of the supplies...you made it from stuff found in the trash at the last crop.
10.) When looking at others' layouts, mention that "The only thing missing is glitter...you can never have too much glitter!"
Do you have any that you would like to add?

Congrats to Julia
Congrats to Julia on her pick for "Layout" of the Week at scraplove.com. Not really a layout, it's an altered frame that her & her daughter designed as teacher's gifts, and can easily be scraplifted!! Congrats again to Julia!!

Welcome!
A scrappy hello to everyone who is visiting for the first time!! Hope you enjoy the information that will be shared here. If you have any suggestions, please let us know...this is for YOU - the scrappers of southern Indiana!!

Congrats to Marilee
Congratulations to Marilee on her pick for Layout of the Week at Scraplove.com. It is a beautiful 12x12, 1-page layout with a lot of detail. Not to mention that beautiful picture. Congrats again Marilee!! If you have a "toot" that you would like to pass on, please let us know!
May Swap (due at the June crop)
It’s called a “5 for 5 Swap” - all participants will fill out a short questionnaire (like favorite brands, favorite colors, favorite subject to scrap, 12 x 12 or 8-1/2 x 11, etc.), and turn those back in.
Then, each person will draw out a name. Where the “5 for 5” comes in is this...based on the questionnaire, we will get that person:
5 – brads or eyelets
4 – buttons or flowers
3 – patterned papers (at least 2 must be different patterns)
2 – cardstock (can both be the same, or both different)
1 – surprise item!!
All items would need to match so that we can make a page out it. Then, at the June crop, we will have a layout contest. The layouts MUST include at least a little of each item.
